The Past and Future Tenses

အတိတ္ကာလ

Past Tense

အတိတ္ကာလအတြက္ ႀကိယာေနာက္မွာ ´ခဲ့´ ကို အသံုးျပဳတယ္။ 

We use ´ခဲ့´ after the verb of the past tense.

စားခဲ့တယ္။

I ate.

ေနခဲ့တယ္။

I lived.

သြားခဲ့တယ္။

I went.

ဥပမာ။

မဆုဒါ ျမန္မာႏိုင္ငံကို သြားခဲ့သလား

Did Ma Suda go to Myanmar?

ဟုတ္ကဲ့။ ကၽြန္မ ျမန္မာျပည္ကို ဒီဇင္ဘာလက သြားခဲ့တယ္။

Yes. I went to Myanmar in December.

မသစ္ ငွက္ေပ်ာသီးမုန္႕ ၀ယ္ခဲ့သလား။

Did Ma Thit buy banana cake?

ဟုတ္ကဲ့။ ၀ယ္ခဲ့ပါတယ္။

Yes. I bought it.

အနာဂတ္  

Future Tense

အနာဂတ္ကာလအတြက္ ႀကိယာ ေနာက္မွာ မယ္ သို႕မဟုတ္ လိမ့္မယ္ (လိမၼယ္) ကို အသံုးျပဳတယ္။

We use မယ္ or  လိမ့္မယ္ (လိမၼယ္) after the verb of  the future tense.

ဥပမာ။

လာမယ္။

I will come.

ငါ သြားမယ္။

She will go.

သူတို႕ ေျပာမယ္။

They will speak.

သူၾကည့္မယ္။

He will look.

ေအးျမတ္သူ ေနာက္အပတ္ လာလိမ့္မယ္။

Aye Myat Thu will come next week.

ျမန္ာစကား သင္တန္း အသစ္ ေနာက္လမွာ ဖြင့္လိမ့္မယ္။

It will open the new class of Myanmar Language next month.
